Due to several personal events the Alpha 6 full release will be out in the next update. However, those who opt into the beta branch can now get a preview of some of the features that will be added in the next update focused around the power armor system.
This new system along with the additional ships after the first one are meant for mid to late game mechanics. Too often you can do everything within a game within minutes. Often times this can lead to no real need to push forward and feel a sense of accomplishment over the long run. Here are some of the features with this new update...
Change Current Armors
Ships with a hangar bay can now be loaded out with power armors for use on the ship. As with the crew members sent out once they are lost they are lost for good. Each armor has its own stats that effects missions and battles that they participate in.
Along with the armors the weapons that they use can also be customized. When additional weaponry is researched you can use the weapons tab in order to change them. Mechanics are needed in order to make these changes via requests that you put in. Mechanics must be assigned to "fix fighters" in order for this to occur. They will also repair the armors when needed.
The current ships have a maximum of 3 squads that can be set and readied for missions and the protection of the ship. You are able to peer into the squads cockpit via monitors assuming you have a fighter bay selected. While out on missions this view will provide information on status and what is occurring as well.
