Alpha V3.1 is in its final testing stages and should be up on Steam shortly at the time of this posting. This update focuses on a lot of UI cleanup work in response to various forms of feedback. The UI is still not finalized and will continue to be improved. Overall this should help with identifying what can be pressed and prodded for more information. The game as a whole is all about exploration so knowing what to mouseover does help with this. Take a look at the changelist notes for a more indepth look.
The new tutorial system has gone over very well with testers. Due to this more tutorials have been added and some new features will be coming soon as well in order to view completed tutorials for reference. This new system has fixed a lot of issues of confusion. It is a fine balancing act of focusing on players learning systems and exploring things on their own. Many games hand hold and you never get a chance to learn on your own.
UI Update Part 1
The UI should no longer have placeholder fonts in this update. Additionally various buttons have been enhanced in the interface to ensure appropriate actions and discovery are taken. There is still an additional polish that will need to occur for things like spacing and making sure buttons that are enabled are grayed out or highlighted where appropriate.
More mouse over tooltips will also be added where appropriate.
