In Alpha 6.1 each class of armor should now have an appropriate docking station with its own animations when the armors interact with them. This should be in the new patch which is expected to be released at the normally scheduled time.
Also, there should be additional bug fixes like saving the change weapon requests and some interaction issues when traveling between sectors with pilots assigned to specific hangar slots. Overall the system is becoming a lot more polished in hopes to get to the mission system which is the major piece to this system. Due to the pure size of this update its important to make sure there are very small amount of bugs with a lot of ample testing thus the initial implementation.
Next up on the list is additional crew updates now that the three type of characters are in the game. This means focusing on reevaluating the skill system and ensuring the skills for each class make sense. Flight crew members don't need a repair skill however other skills are very likely to be added to help with some of the clarification as well as breaking things up that don't make sense. For instance mechanics currently use the repair skill to store energy in the engine room whereas something more relevant would make sense. Look forward to changes like that in Alpha 7.
Also, the game is a simulation so the actual life of the crew and how they interact with the ship is very important. Because of this there will be more tuning as well allowing for more options of the AI. Often there are complaints of why aren't the crew maximizing their stats when off duty. The real reason is they don't have biometric readings like the player does. Humans don't really monitor that their bladder is 20% full or they are 30% hungry however being the AI you have access to this information because you are calculating based on their needs. Also it is because its a game and if everything ran 100% you never would do anything at all. So there should be some fixes with this in the next update allowing you to alert the crew to handle their needs a bit better as fine tune needs to how you feel they should be handled. Overall game flow will be improved upon as well to avoid the system feeling like a pain at times.
Currently in order to help with some of the progression over time some ideas for more upgrades and more ways to tune the ship in the future is coming into the works and with proper design. Hopefully can speak more on this soon.
Lastly, currently investigating some additional graphical improvements to finalize the look of the rooms and overall ship design. This is more in the prototype phase to see if the idea will work so will have more news on this at a later time.
