This month was a little rough just from catching random colds/viruses going around but things seem to be getting back to normal. Very excited to show off some of the new features being worked on behind the scenes so stay tuned and thanks for your patience!
A hotfix was pushed to the steam branch to fix a weapon damage bug caused by the ark system that was introduced in the previous major update.
Since hotfixes can throw off the schedule a bit below is a sneak preview of the next change with the sector map system. This update adds hazards to the game as you travel around the map. This will provide a bit more activity during travel times where your ship can be damaged by oncoming asteroids or even having to travel through old mine fields. It also can allow for system outages as you travel through nebulas.
There is still a great deal of fleshing out with the system and making sure it still creates a fun experience and adds to the overall gameplay. The purpose is to give more decisions when deciding when to travel to specific locations along with things occurring during travel. Traveling in space is a dangerous endeavor that is hinted at in the intro of the game, and this helps push the idea even more.
The system will roll out in stages to avoid overwhelming players and getting feedback in between updates.
Its been a whole year since the game has been in early access and it wouldn't have gotten as far as it has thanks to all of your help, suggestions and support.
7.3 adds additional fixes to the "floating off in space" issues that have plagued the game for a while. This should hopefully fix a lot of the remaining issues but will definitely keep an eye on things. As far as the game was aware only the sprites were moving, the character position and activities were correct so it was only a graphical issue.
Also pushed the 7.1 changes and 7.2 to the main branch as well.
